Projects

Projects are the top-level containers in Incomy. Everything—entries, operations, wallets, and members—lives inside a project.

How Projects Work​

When you create a project, you define:

  • Project Name: A descriptive title (e.g., "Holiday in Italy" or "Home Budget").
  • Base Currency: The main currency used for calculating balances and reports.
  • Project ID: A unique identifier used in the URL.

Managing Members​

A project is most useful when shared. You can invite other users to your project as Members. Once they join, they can view the history, add their own expenses, and participate in settlements.

The Dashboard​

The Dashboard provides a high-level overview of the project's health:

  • Total Balance: The current net worth of the project.
  • Member Balances: Who is currently "up" or "down" relative to the group.
  • Recent Activity: A quick glance at the latest updates in the Journal.
